BSP Press Conference in Rayagada: Strong Attack on MPs & MLAs Over Public Issues

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organized a press conference in Rayagada, sharply criticizing the Central Government and local elected representatives for failing to raise critical public issues in legislative forums.

Led by State In-Charge Jitendra Jakeshika, the party questioned the effectiveness of MPs and MLAs, pointing out the high expenditure of parliamentary and assembly sessions without adequate discussion on pressing concerns.

BSP highlighted the non-functioning of 17 out of 18 mega drinking water projects in the district, demanded immediate steps before summer, and raised concerns about delays in implementing OPLP 2.0 affecting tribal communities.

State General Secretary Gangadhar Puala questioned the silence of representatives over the Sungar incident and alleged police excesses against those raising issues related to jal, jungle, and jameen.

The party also demanded wage hikes, timely payments, and permanent recruitment for MGNREGA and other contractual workers, along with a 90-day electricity bill waiver for poor and middle-class families.

Political observers believe BSP’s issue-based approach is intensifying pressure on ruling parties in Rayagada district.
